Lead producers face surplus as prices slip to 12 1 2 cents
Overproduction and accumulation push lead prices down from a peak of 12 1 2 cents to about 12 1/2 cents a pound. Producers sought Gov guidance to buy tonnages, but curtailment and market forces have now relieved some pressure. Government price assurances eroded as deliveries completed and agencies now pay market rates.

Widows Restricted to One Tax Exemption Across Counties
The Attorney General advised the tax commission that widows may claim exemption in only one county, even if a second county would grant relief on a $950 valuation. In a test case a widow first exempted on $60 valuation in one county and then sought exemption in another county on $950. The AG rule preserves the first exemption as the sole allowed deduction.
