Edwards died in Oakland from injuries after a St Helena auto crash. Orlando F. Jenks died in Reno from a skull fracture in an auto accident.

Mexico's Woe and the Bandit Life described by Dunn
In Car ton's Magazine, Harry H. Dunn argues 14 million Mexicans live on free money and free women, with bandits and corrupt bands offering easier profits than work. He notes wages under 50 cents a day, widespread cattle theft, and villages looted for loot and plunder. Government troops are underpaid and sometimes join bandits, creating a grim, comfortable crime culture.
