Santa Clara University chemistry student Nicholas M Lettanioh applies for patents on two fuel ideas. One liquid mix claims to replace gasoline and boost mileage from 18 to 25 mpg on a Buick 40, with cylinders carbon-free after 100 miles. The other decarbonizer mix, without acids or glycerine, blends into gasoline to add about three miles per gallon and 15 percent more power, while oxidizing cylinder carbon.
On May 18 a three story brick High School of Commerce building weighing 8,000 tons began a two block move. The $150,000 contract makes it the coast’s costliest moving project yet while saving the school from a $300,000 rebuild. Three donkey engines, each hauling 500 horses, pull the structure over a track laid with 1,800,000 feet of timbers.

McQueen had sold one horse and waited in Las Vegas for payment. He is a known figure around Ely and Pioche.

If underpaid, delivery incurs a charge equal to double the deficient amount. Only Canada, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Newfoundland, the Canal Zone, Germany, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Shanghai are two cent prepaid. All other nations require five cents prepaid per ounce or fraction. underpayment leads to extra postage due on delivery.
A raid in Ely nabbed six men from various saloons for gambling in violation of the law. Each man pleaded guilty before Judge Cartwright, requesting immediate judgment. Fines were set at 40 dollars plus costs totaling 45.45 dollars per defendant.
