George A Betlest of Nevada, a former two term congressman, told a Reno Gazette representative on March 2 that he is running for Supreme Judge and feels sure of securing the nomination. He spoke from Washington about his qualifications and intent to seek the party nomination.
A Nevada Supreme Court hopeful announces formal bid for the Democratic nomination to fill Justice Sweeney’s seat. He says considerd the move, driven by friends statewide, promises a clean campaign and says he does not fear the party’s outcome.

Colonel Adrian O Ellis a noted attorney and Democrat from the far West died at Salt Lake City on Saturday. Born near Richmond Missouri in 1840 he left four children surviving him.

Phoenix reports Senator Henry Levin of Mojave County introduced a bill allowing divorce after six months residence in Arizona and four months in the county where filed. Other measures include taxing telephones and express firms, revising the criminal code, banning blacklists, requiring written discharge reasons, and prohibiting wage assignments for married men without wife consent.

An injunction suit was filed in Reno by Lovelock valley irrigators against the Pacific Reclamation Company of Wells to force gate lifting at a reservoir on the Humboldt River.
