House passes Three-Year Homestead Act reduces residence period

Washington dispatch reports March 27 that the House unanimously approved the Three-Year Homestead Act, keeping core features from the Senate bill. It lowers residence to three years, grants five months leave annually, six months to establish residence after filing, and relieves heirs if the entryman died after complying. Mill Canyon Mines near Cortes cited as future mill project

Captain J B Menardi of Reno discusses Mill Canyon mining prospects in Lander County.
