Mining updates at Bullwhacker and Eureka mines

W A Barnes of Bullwhacker Companies visited San and outlined plans for rapid development at the Bullwhacker and Holly mines. At Eureka Uncle Sam a gas engine and blower were added to remove powder gas, with two shifts now at work and ore channels showing potential as the 60 foot level is approached. Ruby Hill reports no new operation details. Howard D. Smith expected from New York this week but not yet arrived.

Prohibition Amendments Signed By The Governor

The Senate bill amending the State Prohibition Act has been signed by the Governor. The amendments harmonize with the Federal Act allowing hospital use of wine and prescription liquors. Ministers may secure sacramental wines without violating state law, addressing earlier conflicts.

Winnemucca Sheep Shearers Reach 11 Cent Settlement

The threatened strike of sheep shearers at the local pens was settled this week and the shearers resumed work. Between 15 000 and 20 000 sheep will be sheared here this season at the local pens and comprise the bands owned by Firmin Bilboa Pete Egos cue and 8 Siard. Shearing will be in progress here for about two weeks.

District Court Session Opens With Assigned Arraignments

Regular term of the District Court convened Tuesday under Judge Peter Breen. F. K. Grieme pled not guilty to assault with intent to kill and trial by jury set for April 12. Arsenic laden ore shipped from Eureka to smelter

In prensa 26 1931 a sample claimed to contain six to eight dollars in silver and lead plus high arsenic. The ore from Eureka is sent to a valley smelter that has begun manufacturing arsenic insecticides and lapraya for horticultural use.

Death of Agnes Morrison in Antelope Valley

Mrs. Agnes Morrison died at her home in Antelope Valley Eureka County on Sunday March 10 after a long illness. A Irish native, she aged 105 years 6 months 13 days and left four children. Funeral was held Wednesday at the Odd Fellows Hall with ministers and hymns and burial beside her husband.
