Miner W. J. Molter Shoots Self in Round Mountain Nevada

W J Molter a 50 year old Round Mountain miner ended his life with a .32 caliber pistol at the Taber Hotel in Round Mountain. A note found nearby expressed despair and asked forgiveness. Molter previously worked in Manhattan and Goldfield and was associated with the Holly Extension project in Eureka.

Ford interest in Eureka mining boosts camp plans

Detroit magnate Henry Ford has taken a large stake in the Eureka Croesus Mining Company aiming to fund extensive development of Eureka Nevada ore fields and a local metallurgical plant. The deal includes building a power line to Nevada from Belmont and financing a mill unit, with Eureka shares rising from twenty cents to around 1.80 as market activity intensifies.

Milk tests satisfactory for James Hunter dairy wagon

James Hunter received a statement from Prof B C Dinsmore of Nevada's Division of Food in Drugs Control. The milk samples taken during a visit to Kufuka were tested at Nevada University and both samples tested well above the mink standard adopted by the state.

Italian-born Eureka miner Caesar Lani commits suicide in cabin

Caesar Lani age 39, Italian-born Eureka resident and miner, shot himself in his cabin in Portugese canyon near noon last Tuesday. Justice of the Peace and a coroner’s jury found death by own action after Frank Locke testified to batching in the cabin since the 3rd of the month. A note to his uncle in Italian said he was tired of living and directed transfer of cash, two Liberty bonds, stock, and bank deposits totaling about 800 dollars. Firearms caused two shots. no one else present. Remains placed by I O O F lodges and interred in the Odd Fellows cemetery after funeral in Eureka.

Eureka to Have Cyanide Mill

Hugh Leonard, owner of Adams Hill mining properties, will go to Keno Sunday to secure parts for a cyanide testing plant. He plans to use the tests to determine a proper cyanide process for Adams Hill ores and has pledged capital to erect a cyanide mill here after experiments.

Well known Eurekan in critical condition after hemorrhage

Elko Free Press reports Katheryn Cicala, a teacher at Elko grammar school and daughter of Mrs. Caroline Huebner, fell gravely ill with a hemorrhage. She was rushed to Shaw hospital where an operation was performed and preparations for a blood transfusion from daughter to mother were under way.
