Eureka Silver Mining Company plans to prospect the Phillipsburg vein at its intersection with a strong east west vein about 16 miles north of Eureka Nevada. A tunnel is near six feet from the fissure, with 18 inches of silver lead ore exposed and assays from 20 to 475 dollars per ton. A drift will begin soon, aiming to reach the intersection within about 100 feet, with overall depth around 126 feet. Water for milling and domestic use can be piped. further depth via an adit is possible.

Dr. C. Secord of Elko was summoned to Eureka on Wednesday for a consult with Dr. Bresaus at the home of Vernie Depeoll, who is seriously ill with pneumonia. Heavy rain and long stretches of soft roads slowed the two doctors, delaying the trip by several hours. Secord reached Eureka about 2:30 Thursday morning.
