Remarkable Clock Lights Oakland Harbor In New City Hall
In Oakland California on June 4 a new five thousand dollar electrical clock in the tower of the city hall, part of a two hundred thousand dollar building, goes into operation. The clock, over thirty feet above street level, drives sixty other dials inside and out, with fifteen inch figures visible two miles away. A powerful colored light at the base of the flagpole signals hours and quarters and a great globe light will soon be added to guide ships and aid police during general calls for the city’s entire force.
