Tonopah Woman Murdered. Suspect Held for Murder

Mrs Charles De Long was found dead in the street at Tonopah Sunday night and officials believe she was murdered with a 22 rifle. Louis Davenport, 60, a prospector, is held for murder after blood was found in his cabin and his 22 rifle with an empty shell was discovered. Davenport gave conflicting statements. The woman, aged about 40, was left to die in a rainstorm. her husband is said to be a cook at Ely.
