Cattlemen split as new stock growers group forms
Denver January 18 The National Livestock Association splits over a new constitution admitting packers and risking railroad influence. Cattle, horse and swine growers depart to form the American Stock Growers Association while sheep and stockyards interests stay with the old body. Delegates vote on reorganization plans, add a 36 hour livestock transport limit, and elect a temporary leadership pending a May Denver convention.
