J B Josey of Eureka Climax Mining says orders for outfits supplies and rails arrive and mining will start immediately under Julius Huebner at Eureka Climax. A tunnel plan aims to cut into ore 300 feet below current exposure with a drive under two hundred feet. Stock recently listed at par on the San Francisco Stock Exchange rose to 24 cents and insiders forecast up to 60 cents.

Eureka Names Lucy Gates Acting Postmaster

The National Surety Company appoints Lucy A. Gates acting postmaster at Eureka as Laura Hoegh retires. Hoegh’s term ends today January 17 after which Gates will run the office with no assistant yet named. The Sentinel reports Gates was chosen by the company and expects to provide satisfactory service.
