Tognoni Held to Answer in Robbery Case
The Justice of the Peace waived Tognoni’s preliminary examination and ordered him held to answer in district court with bonds set at 5000. Evidence includes bloodstained clothes found in Monroe street, a pistol recovered from Sadler premises, and Dennison’s assertion that Tognoni was the sole robber who took $700. A fellow spectator, Jack Wright, was briefly detained but released for lack of evidence. Tognoni admitted ownership of the clothes but claimed he was not wearing them during the robbery.
