Smith of Humboldt County introduces a Nevada Assembly bill setting maximum passenger fares for standard gauge trains at 3 cents per mile and narrow gauge at 6 cents, with baggage allowance of 150 pounds. Conductor-paid fares rise to 4 and 7 cents respectively. Under ten must not exceed 2 or 3 cents. Offices must stay open 30 minutes before departure or fares capped. Violations bring $200 to $500 fines.
