Reno public meeting ends without pursing Mack economy bill

In Reno a public meeting on the Mack economy bill to cut city salaries nearly sparked a clash between Mayor Byington and the bill’s author. No decision was reached and Reno retrenchment remains unsettled. Steve Christianson of Modesto plans to buy and operate 7000 acres in Lovelock valley to colonize farmers for beans asparagus celery potatoes sunflowers and possibly corn. Gardnerville reports a tree in Pine Nut range that allegedly lures sheep with a sweet odor and releases gas killing them. three sheep died, a fourth witnessed doom.
