The Salt Lake Telegram surveys fat cattle at the Chicago livestock show noting Polled Angus leads premiums due to Canadian exhibits. It contrasts Herefords on ranges, Shorthorns on farms, and Galloways in very cold conditions, arguing Shorthorn excels where daily shelter and feed exist.

The term of imprisonment of Joseph Smith has expired and he is again a free man. Smith was sentenced to ten years for the murder of John Silva, a Goldfield restaurant keeper, on March 10, 1907, amid labor troubles and quarry plans near Mina. A separate note mentions Roberta Lusk, a ten year old pupil in Elko, slashing Francis Lang with a razor after taunts, claiming her mother supplied the weapon for self defense.

The notice promises satisfaction guaranteed or money refunded and offers a free descriptive circular upon request.
