Senator Patterson Held in Contempt for Cartoons Printing

In Denver Colorado the State Supreme Court held United States Senator Thomas Patterson in contempt for printing cartoons and editorials in his two newspapers. He was fined 7000 dollars and ordered to jail, with the sentence stayed 80 days to allow an appeal. Patterson claimed constitutional exemption from arrest while Congress is in session and threatened further appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary. The court issued stay and awaited further action.
