Desert Peril Three Men Stranded After Nevada Dust Storm
A six man party led by Thomas Summers of Reno faced a deadly desert ordeal near Goldfield during a severe Dirtcord storm. They lost their way after the trek to Lida, reached Sixteen Mile House, then were rushed to Goldfield for care. Cramley suffered near blindness and serious injuries as the storm raged, described as the greatest in the region.
