Exposed wartime exploits of Father Meens linked to Nurse Cavell
The Roman Catholic journal The Universe reveals Father Meens aided Edith Cavell and helped British prisoners escape from Belgium during World War I. The Brussels priest worked with an allied intelligence network, using disguises, carrier pigeons, and a 11 year old girl guide to direct escaped prisoners to safety, while planning raids and messages for the British Admiralty.

Spruce Mountain Smelter Delivers First Test Run
Elko report confirms Bullshead Mining and Smelting Company completed its first test run on Sunday. Secretary L E B Johnson says twenty four 100 pound bars of silver lead were produced, ore grading thirty ounces of silver and 10 percent lead, with over 10,000 tons of high grade ore blocked out and additional ore on the dump.
