The National Live Stock Association calls for its eighth annual convention in Denver from January 10 to 14, 1905. A revised constitution and by laws will be debated to broaden representation across cattle, sheep, swine, railroads, packing houses, and related interests. Albert De Kome, a late graduate of the Life Class at Mark Hopkins Institute of Art, was subjected to repeated electric chair shocks by fellow students last week. His lower limbs were nearly paralyzed. An Oakland uncle, Louis De Rome, vows to press criminal charges against those responsible.
Paul Kruger former president of the Transvaal left a fortune estimated at 3,750,000. He bequeathed 125,000 to Dutch societies in Holland and funds for Boer widows and orphans after the South African War. The Tonopah Sun reports a robust horse market across Tonopah Goldfield and nearby districts with rising prices. Daily sales feature horses and mules at 400 dollars and higher, light ponies fetching at least 50 dollars, and large teams reaching up to 600 dollars. Demand drives freighting to Goldfield and Bull Frog areas and outfits for prospectors, with heavy draft animals and ponies in strong demand.

The Nye County district, eight miles by three, is noted as mineral rich with lead silver and iron varieties and a promising future in Nevada.
O. E. S. Hayward owns the largest egg farm in the East at Hancock New Hampshire with over 8400 hens housed in 600 small eight by eight foot coops. Hens never go outside or eat green feed, receiving beef scraps gluten hominy feed wheat salt ground shells grit and water. Each hen yields about 100 eggs yearly at 26 cents a dozen totaling 2.17 dollars per hen while feed costs about 1.17 dollars per hen leaving roughly 1 dollar profit per bird. Only young hens are kept the second year before selling and pallets are bought for the next crop.
Nevada debuts an electric street railway between Reno and Sparks on November 4 drawing eager riders. Over 1400 fares collected, trips take about 10 minutes, fare is 10 cents one way. Beginning December 1 daily commuters will receive tickets.
