Lynn District Prospering Mines Ship 41.5 Tons to Salt Lake Smelter
The Big Six Mining Company in the Lynn district Eureka County shipped 41 1 2 tons of high grade gold ore from Carlin to the Salt Lake smelter. This is the fourth shipment, the second full car, and should net about $5 000. W W Ruby, the mine manager, supervised loading. A mill has been purchased and will be installed. The miners praise Ruby as the right man for the job.

Discovers New Kind of Bunny in Nevada
L F Adamson, an amateur hunter, reports finding a new rabbit variety in Nevada that has moved south from Idaho and Oregon. The small, dark rabbit with a black tail, found as far south as Eureka, is described as rabbit rather than cottontail and praised for table quality after Adamson shot one near New Pass in Churchill County.

Ne Plus Ultra Mine Closed by Bambergers Authority
The Ne Plus Ultra mine at Hamilton, long employing many workers, was shut by orders of the Bambergers of Salt Lake City who own the property. Production was heavy but ore shipping to Eureka proved difficult. A service trick failed, and after the owner demanded $10 per ton for haulage, Bamberger refused, leading to the closing order.

Lynn and Harold Lovelace aged 11 and 12 confessed to killing F. Thomas Hamill a Carson City Nevada teacher. Hamill’s body was found at a ranch near Twin Falls Idaho after he surprised them robbing his cabin. He was vice principal of Carson schools and planned to return to teach there.

Verdict of Murder Against 2 Boy Killers
Twin Falls Idaho August 23 A coroner s jury returns a murder verdict against Harold and Lynn Lovence brothers aged 12 and 11 who confessed to shooting Thomas Hamill a manual training teacher of Carson Nevada last Tuesday when caught robbing his cabin 46 miles south of Twin Falls. The boys remain in county jail awaiting preliminary hearings.

Three State Normal Schools for Coming Year
State normal schools will be maintained during the coming year at Virginia City Tonopah and Bunker ville. The location of the schools were decided upon at a meeting of the State Board of Education in Carson City Monday and teachers were selected. Miss Ann Rive who taught in the normal school in Carson City last year will have charge of the Virginia City school. Miss Ethel B. Brown will have charge of the Tonopah school. She taught in Elko last year. Miss Mina Connell who taught in Panaca last year will go to Bunkerville. Owing to lack of students in the three places where schools were held last year it was decided to make the transfers.
