Attorney General Thatcher answers three key questions for upcoming elections. Delegates to county or State conventions cannot sign independent candidate petitions without jeopardy. Those intending to seek convention nomination cannot sign those petitions. Delegates may come before county conventions for nomination. Thatcher notes independents must file petitions by September 5, same as regular State nominees.

Hereford Gift Boosts University Herd Cooperation

John H. Carter of Wells donates six pedigreed two year old Hereford heifers valued at $3000 to the University. The Nevada Cattlemen's Association backs a statewide plan to add blooded stock to the University herd. The program aims to breed superior stock and share improved cattle with local ranchers.

Elko Hotel Proprietor Pleads Guilty To Theft

Puccinelli owner of the Elko hotel pleaded guilty in justice court to receiving stolen property and was fined 75 dollars plus costs. A barrel of bottled beer were found in his basement, allegedly sold by Joe White who admitted taking the beer. The item originated from a separate theft case in which the Ford auto owned by G. E. Anderson was recovered near Woodlawn cemetery with Roy Beebe confessing involvement.
