European recovery talk by Brewster Adams at Reno Rotary
Rev Brewster Adams Reno Rotary Club president surveyed Europe during a world Rotarians convention visit. He called the continent a pirate of Europe amid postwar strife, noting Britain France Italy and Germany exhibit divergent recovery paths while Switzerland suffers from parity money and Belgium faces profiteering. He urged firmness from the United States in debt issues and warned against celebrating German prosperity to avoid undermining recovery efforts. The talk tied to a broader view of the reconstruction era as the Great European Bank.
