Eureka County Commission Proceedings August 5 1921
The regular monthly meeting of Eureka County Commissioners August 5 was attended by Commissioners Rel Johnson F A Pulkerson the Clerk and District Attorney. The board audited finances and confirmed bank balances. A list of fees was published in today's Sentinel. The clerk was instructed to notify Dr Row of Carum Nevada that his claim against the county is laid over and to require a showing that Western Park Railway will not pay. Pastorio and Shultz offered a $500 bond for courthouse sidewalk completion which was approved. An auditor's warrant of $250 was authorized for Assessor expenses at the State Board of Equalization meeting for 1921. The board and the county education board proposed a County Normal Training School at Eureka with $250 to $500 for rooms equipment and maintenance, to be established this year under the State Board of Education, and the School Board to furnish rooms and equipment. Meeting adjourned to Monday August 22.

State Tax Board Meeting Planned in Carson City
The State Board of Tax Equalization will meet in Carson City on the 16th and continue for weeks. Hearings expected on railroad and public utilities taxation rates and livestock industry representations. County assessors and others will be in session from the 15th to the 16th, then the commission stays open. Anmounor W. J. Hooper of Eureka will travel by train to attend.

Miss Ida Bruffey, formerly of the Bruffey ranch Eureka County, married Mr Edward Le Nord after traveling from Reno to Beckwith and Quincy California. The groom is a Quincy barroom mechanic and the couple reside there. The bride is well known in Eureka and the county.

Board of Equalization Meeting Adjourns With Mine Relief
The Board of County Commissioners and Board of Equalization met at 2. Present were TL J Reid B C Johnson and F A Fulkerson with Clerk Assessor and Auditor. The Recorder stated that all mortgaged property was assessed. Relief petitions for patented mines were received from Lyman Fulton Racine mine F J Brossamer Keystone Eureka Clipper mines L A Harris Croesus group F H Manson Consolidated Cortex Mining Co group D States Uncle Sam Con mine E D Walts Keystone Adair mines Ed Berryman Diamond Recessior group. The Clerk was authorized to strike these mines from the 1921 Assessment Roll. The Board adjourned to meet Monday August 22.

In district court on July 22 Mrs Thomas Evans was named guardian for Owen Willie Myrtle and Raymond Rice orphans of Eugene Rice. She receives 55 per month for maintenance from the county board. Smelters Seek Lower Ore Freights Across Regions
