Increased Water Supply Boosts Round Mountain Placer Mines

The Round Mountain Mining Company reports water supply from 400 to 700 miner's inches allows processing 1750 yards of placer ground daily. Led by president L D Gordon the firm bought the hydraulic system of Round Mountain Power and Water Company and now routes water via one 10 inch and two 8 inch pipes since March 28 to maximize seasonal output. Miss Vernon to Return to Nevada for Civic League Work

Elko Board weighs licensing all games in Elko and Carlin

County Commissioners meet to consider licensing every game in Elko and Carlin, with District Attorney Carville noting possible ordinances and the Attorney General's expected support. The board sees high license fees as regulatory and revenue sources, while a grand jury cites ongoing gaming law violations. Meanwhile the upper Humboldt reservoir will hold 30 000 acre feet this spring, rising 6000 feet from last year, with dam completion bringing capacity to 60 000 acre feet and a 19 foot high dam across 25 feet wide top and 2000 acres flooded.
