Frank Miller a Corvallis and Eastern bridge carpenter residing at Summit grew seriously ill with stomach trouble on Monday and died as the train entered Albany yard while en route to St Marys hospital. His parents live at Summit and he leaves a wife. He was about years old and highly regarded.

A 16 year old boy named A. Wilkins was killed at the Booth Kelly logging camp near Saginaw when a large tree fell. It lodged between two rotten trees and crushed him as he ran under it. He died instantly. funeral planned Sunday at Gordon's undertak ing rooms with interment in I O O F cemetery. The boy leaves a father and two brothers.
Paris October 4 cabinet acts on the law separating church and state by authorizing sequestering church property and revenues if clergy persist in resistance. Churches remain open for public worship under the 1881 assembly law during the coming year before the act fully takes effect on December 11.
The Portland capitalists led by W. Hutchings visited the Spencer Butte Coal and Petroleum Co. mine southwest of the city and returned this afternoon. Adah Francis Akin Surcamp died October 2 1906 at 7 a m near Walton aged 42 years 6 months 10 days. Born March 10 1804 in Nebraska she married Frederick Surcamp January 22 1885. Nine children blessed their marriage eight surviving husband and children mourn her loss. She joined Christian church under S C Champie and lived a devout life. She was a loyal wife a kind mother and neighbor. She endured consumption with a smiling faith. Funeral conducted by Rev Champie with consoling verse. A E Whitaker
