Lawyers Advise Against Buying The Courthouse

The Guard reports mixed views from prominent attorneys on the idea of the city purchasing the county courthouse for a city hall. Most say the county may not be able to alienate ground or sell the building, and regardless the process would be lengthy with potential legal obstacles. A few lawyers see few obstacles but oppose the move, while others warn of substantial legal hurdles and caution giving up the plan.
