Fire Season Below Normal in National Forests
Heavy rains and light snows reduce fire danger across national forests under Denver. Since spring, 246 fires burned about 3,900 acres, with 214 under ten acres and 1358 under a quarter acre. Fighting costs neared 16,000 dollars. A large Medicine Bow fire in southern Wyoming burned over 2,500 acres for a week, required 200 firefighters, and cost over 13,000 dollars. Overall season remained below normal in both fires and area burned.

Nesbitt Marries Helen Rainey in Rawlins ceremony

Surprise Tenth Birthday for Lillian Irene Little
Last Saturday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Little on Mc Caffrey avenue a gathering of Irene Little’s young friends marked her tenth birthday. After games and music a three course luncheon followed and a cake with ten candles symbolized her age. Helen Hopka found a Canadian dime as a souvenir, and Irene received several presents while friends and relatives joined in the celebration.

Weeting High School Meeting At City Hall
The Saturday night gathering drew many residents from outside districts and discussed the high school issue at length.
