Thousands of acres of fertile lands in Carbon County await development as settlers pursue homestead options. The pending filings and potential sales signal a surge in settlement activity and agricultural prospects in the region.

W E Sline of Omaha was a guest at the Bohn hotel on Tuesday, staying overnight and visiting local contacts.
Mrs E H Parkison hosted a miscellaneous shower at her home for Miss Ruth Hopka on Monday evening. Guests enjoyed games and rice showers, then a four course lunch. Present were Ruth Hopka and many other friends and relatives.
Master Masons are requested to attend a third degree at Encampment Lodge No. 19 next Wednesday evening October 13th. All Master Masons should be present.
Nic UHL meeting set for tomorrow will discuss the question raised and outline preliminary steps likely to be taken. The agenda includes clarifying next actions and confirming participation of involved parties.
Citizens urged to attend the high school district meeting at city hall Friday night. Outside district speakers are expected to present views and members of both sides are invited to explain their positions and persuade the audience.
