Walker Bros. & Hardy of Fargo notes a calendar error misstates the school election date as June 5 a Monday. A post-session bill shifts the school election to the first Tuesday in June but not until July 1, making this year’s election June 20 under the old law.
The Fortnightly club held a pleasant meeting at the home of Mrs. Yom Williams yesterday afternoon. At the next gathering they will begin studying How Do You Like It. All members are urged to attend.
A Civil War Union soldiers gathering met last Monday afternoon at the Record to plan observances for the day. Linton ladies will organize vocal music and band volunteers perform, aiming for a repeat of Memorial Day success in Linton. Rev. A. W. Wright of Bismarck Presbyterian Church will deliver the oration.
A Boston public school teacher drew a volcano on the blackboard with red chalk to illustrate its eruption. When asked to name what it resembled, a student named Joey answered with unexpected hesitation, saying it looked like h-], ma'am.
L H Clyborne of Herreid died at his home Tuesday forenoon May 2 1905 after years of consumption. A prominent Campbell County banker and longtime M B church member, he built a respected business and left a legacy of honesty. Funeral held in Herreid today with hundreds in attendance.
Minneapolis Tribune argues that a twenty year old boy, driven to work by desire to earn, is hindered by a wealthy mother who objects to his labor. The piece urges letting youths work and adjusting them to suitable occupations rather than thwarting ambition.
Friday evening last week a group of Standing Rock reservation employees and Major John Carignan’s friends surprised him at his home with a fine diamond ring to honor his services. Rev Fr Martin presented the gift as a musical evening and social hour followed by midnight refreshments and warm wishes for long life and happiness.
Miss Lottie L Tillotson of St Paul schedules an elocutionary entertainment in Linton on Friday May 19 at 8 00 pm. The event features music and Delsarte illustrations and is organized by the Ladies Aid Society at the M E Church. Admission is 35 cents for adults and 25 cents for children.

Gibson family return to EUREKA after visiting Albert Haak. Rev P Braak of Westfield sells property and heads to Grand Rapids Michigan. Marriage of Edward Nieuwsma and Jennie Van Svest solemnized by Rev Braak with reception planned tomorrow evening. Best wishes to the couple.
Mr. Fletcher Ryckman of Dale lies seriously ill under Dr Shockey care. Walter Mowry a Winona ranchman is storm bound in town. Dr Shockey expects to harvest game this season. F A Sherwood of Pollock Mercantile helps with Loutzenhiser store invoicing and the company buys the building stock and store. Twin boys born May 3 1905 to Mr and Mrs M DeBoer mother and babies well. DeBoer returns from Minneapolis with an eight horsepower auto praised as fine. Gov Sarles and party visit Pollock and travel to Fort Yates by private car. Auto gets stuck in sand across river and officials assist by pushing the car.
Andrew Hanson of Linton North Dakota offers a ten dollar reward for cattle strayed from Joy Pls Township 133 Range 75. Finder to contact Andrew Hanson. informant to shut up and nullify claim. December 23.
The next regular teachers examination will be held in the school house at Linton North Dakota on Friday and Saturday May 26 and 27 1905. All persons teaching on permit are notified to attend. Work commences at 9 a m sharp. Necessary material furnished. Linton N D May 6 1905 Cons Coventry Co Supt.
