A Veterans committee meets next Wednesday at the Record office to plan Memorial Day events. News items note visitors and local farm and business notices, sales, and personal updates from Linton and surrounding areas.
Agricultural college experiments show elm and ash varieties endure North Dakota winters. Hackberry and poplar can fare well in some areas but not in large plantings. Elm offers best permanent value. farmers urged to plant five to twenty acres of trees for shade fuel and climate improvement.
Miss Emma Long, Braddock school teacher, plans to start a term at Wa. 2 in two weeks and then return to Braddock next year. Barney Burbage, Dave Sites, T. M. Gray and others haul building material from Braddock for a new school in Burr Oak district.
May 4 correspondence lists moving and local happenings. Mrs Wade returns to Mandan. John Green family occupies the parsonage. Will Clark drove to Qangon Ball. Miss Mipnle Ostrom on a week’s vacation. Tom Morory repairs his house. Coonen buys Ostrom house and moves it. Postmaster Westcott in poor health. Stockmanderwood seen in onrburg. Squires appointed school clerk replacing Sam Trevellick. Jim Williamson arrives from Vanderbilt. Postmaster Anderson of Yates leaves for Bismarck. Dr Merrill repairing his house. Carloons to move in soon. Mr and Mrs John Percy cross the river.
Undersigned seeks help to drive cattle to pasture starting May next. Will provide pasture and hay. Address 215-17, later west of Lincoln, post office Tinton. Marli May.
