Old Settler Thomas Botterdley Dies After Long Illness
Thomas Botterdley, also known as George Walker, died at the hospital after a winterlong illness from Brights disease. A longtime Missouri slope resident, he ran a Bismarck to Fort Yates stage line before health decline. Born January 24 1826 in Halifax England he moved to America at 16 and traveled widely. Funeral from the hospital at 2 PM tomorrow.

A new act targets malicious trespass on non municipal farm buildings. It defines tearing down doors windows siding roofs or chimney as felony if removal lowers building value by over twenty dollars. Penalties include up to one hundred dollar fines for misdemeanors and up to three years in state prison for felonies. The act clarifies joint and repeated offenses and becomes effective upon passage.
