The Grand Forks Herald reports editor Winship’s new Thorne typesetter and improved staff as signs of growth. North Dakota farms shift from wheat to corn flax potatoes with creameries and more cattle hogs and sheep. experts foresee a new farming era and enduring land value through diversification.
A Dakota Farmer correspondent urges corn over wheat, outlining five cultivation steps. Emphasizes deep plowing, thorough pulverizing, and mulching to retain scarce moisture, and cautions against turning under dry weed stalks that loosen soil and hasten evaporation.
A session of the County Court of Emmons County will be held at Williamsport on the first Monday and third Saturday of every month. County Judge Joseph Kalserer presides.
Notice states hay permits for school and state lands will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder. County Treasurer conducts sale at the County Saisie in Williamsport on May 8, 1895, starting 10 o clock a.m. D Wimliams, Land Commissioner.

Two cows described in a local notice are taken up by the undersigned. One is about ten years old with a white star on its forehead and a stubby tail. the other is red with black streaks. The owner must pay charges and claim them at the post office, Armatreng.
The Castalia steamer has been attached by creditors. Grand Forks reports McKenzie subscribing $500 to the state university fund. Bismarck hotels taxed during US court term. local courts, raids, and civic events populate a bustling period in North Dakota.
Dakota farmers discuss the pest Russian thistle as a storage aid for moisture and a feed for livestock. C C Moulton of Faulkton reports horses and cattle thrived on almost exclusive Russian thistle hay through winter, in good condition now.
A term of District Court will begin at Williamsport on Monday May 18 1895. Those who wish to take out final naturalization papers can do so at that time.
The undersigned will take cattle the coming season at one dollar per head and horses at one dollar per head. Horses will be kept in a large pasture at night and in storms. Good corral for catching and breeding. Will break horses at reasonable rates. Cattle not corraled. O. B. Starr and O. Pmmombre Rd.
