Milwaukee Extension surveyors arrive in Eureka to build rail line

Eureka last Saturday saw J H McNaught of Milngeasistant surveyor of the C M St P R R arrive to oversee work. By Monday a full survey party grew to about twenty men and on Tuesday they began earnest work aiming to build sixty miles of road, with Linton in North Dakota as a likely terminus. Aberdeen News notes the project will run preliminary lines from Eureka north west, with stakes readied for dirt work next spring. The Milwaukee would rush the line to enable grain and stock shipments, the survey team led by Assistant Engineer McNaught.
