Customers who buy seeds up to four dollars receive one of several books as premiums with titles ranging from Marons Revenge to Dark House. Premiums scale with higher seed spends including complete sets of Macaulay or Hume histories. Mail orders include eight cents per pound postage. Books are guaranteed fresh and free delivery is stated for a short time.
The Wells County Gazette outlines the plan to elect six delegates to the district convention at Steele on May 4. Township caucuses in Williamsport are set for April 29 and 30, with resolutions noting timing conflicts and urging broad farmer participation through the Alliance hail insurance push.

Territory of Dakota executive department proclaims Tuesday the 80th day of April 1889 as a centennial day of Washington's inauguration with a nationwide day of prayer and thanksgiving urging Dakota residents to gather at 10 am in churches for devotional exercises under Governor Arnaur C. Mellerrer and Secretary L B Rietranpson.
The board meets by adjournment with James B. Gayton chairing. Appoints election judges for May 14 1889 in three districts to select delegates for a North Dakota constitutional convention. James O Gibson seeks liquor license for Winona with $250 receipt. bond required for $500 license. Board adjourns to May 20 1889.
The county commission discussed relocating from the big stone building to the Bottomley structure. Chairman Gayton opened the discussion and invited Bottomley to speak about hiring a mason, Buros, after consulting in Bismarck with L N Griffin and others. He estimated vault construction would cost 250 to 300 dollars.

Danaung April 24 1889 report of three horses belonging to John F Geil straying on the night of April 17. Fred Whittier found and cared for them near his home and returned them to their owner today after learning from Casselman whose horses they were. The note praises Whittier for promptness and thanks.
In Williamsport on or about May 15, 1889 a band of 300 to 400 horses including mares geldings and young stock will be offered cheap on good terms. Also a Cherry Grove Farmers Alliance meeting at schoolhouse No 1 on Tuesday evening April 80 at 7. Members urged to attend and nonmembers invited. A Williamsport Alliance meeting was held Saturday evening April 20 with two new members. J H Worst presented an essay on Winter Feed for Stock urging reliance on native wild grass and seed procurement to improve soil.
Farmers urged to consider Webb Bros. of Bismarck for household furniture this spring. The notice recommends examining their stock before buying to secure good goods at fair prices.
The G A R post will meet in Winchester on Saturday May 4 at 2 p m with a camp fire in the evening. All members should attend for important business. non members are invited to join. Dugap Camrsrit, the county treasurer, announces the office will be open on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week and closed on the other days.
A rumor circulating claims the stallion Bonner is only temporary and owned by us for return to St Paul after the season. This is untrue in every detail. Bonner was purchased in good faith and will remain here permanently. Respectfully, Joan L. Root & Co.
Gil Higbee plans Brilliant Junior's season debut in a few days. Trainer H. Higbee says his colt has a good stride and stable supporters trust early entries to draw them back for Brilliant's services this year.
A gathering of Williamsport young men is set for Saturday April 27 at 4 30 to organize a bass ball nine to travel to Winchester on May 24 and teach the Beavers how to play. The announcement comes from the organizers.
