Wreck on Lorain & Elyria Line Hurts Many in Fog

A head end collision occurred at 6:30 am Saturday on the Lorain and Elyria electric line east of the car barns. Cars 43 and 44 crashed amid crushed vestibules and bent iron, with over 80 passengers on No 41 northbound. Several injuries reported, none life threatening, as conductor and motorman saved their lives by jumping. The cause remains unclear with fog limiting visibility and the path allegedly improper. Dr. Hoftama treated the injured, including Younglas with a severe leg gash and a bricklayer missing part of a finger. More details depend on fuller reports.
