Mystery 18 Solved Secret Meetings Of Young Men

Curiosity grew over secret gatherings by North and South Lorain Elyria youths linked to the M C A social committee. The groups planned for a Halloween reception with free admission for all over fifteeen, inviting speculation about the evening’s events. Tomorrow Al Saints Day services are planned at the Episcopal church at 8:30 am.

Five boys arraigned for schoolhouse break in Coonville

Five youths arrested Monday for breaking into the Coonville schoolhouse and damaging a bookcase were arraigned Tuesday before the mayor. They were fined five dollars plus costs, suspended on paying damages of 2.13 apiece.

John Peter Hidt of this city doing business as the Elyria Candy Company filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition in the U S district court yesterday. Liabilities were listed at $15 314.64 with assets of $10 558.86.

Pittsfield Social Notes Reach From Oberlin to Cleveland

In Pittsfield Frank Sheldon visited in Columbus Sunday. Miss Bessie Thomas of Oberlin stayed with Winifred Kep ler. Mr and Mrs Fred Sheeffield and Mr and Mrs Briton Ward hosted Oberlin guests. Attendees from out of town included Mrs George Prosser and Ann Davis of Wellington and Mrs Ackelson Morris and Watson of Oberlin. A 68th birthday gathering for A M Sherburne and wife drew 25 guests. Funeral attendances referenced for Dr Cummer in Cleveland and Mrs Fann y Hines in Huntington.

Welder Welch Resigns After Eight Years at Steel Plant

Surprised Welch resigns from the night shift at the steel plant machine shop after eight years of service. Fellow workers presented a handsome merschaum pipe at noon as a token of esteem. James Long of Lorain delivered the presentation speech. Welch lives on Gulf street in this city.

Mrs Crary presented a Swiss travel lecture at the M and church Monday evening. Her talk featured illustrated songs and moving pictures described as the finest seen in town. A large crowd is expected for the next session tonight.

Injured Youth Sues Columbia Steel for Damages

Frank Chizmar by his next friend Barbara sues Columbia Steel Company for 1500 damages for injuries suffered at work. He claims oiler Peter Parseh left a tube straightening machine cover open, trapping his fingers and causing crushing and amputation at the first joint. The accident occurred March 20 1905.

Herrick Sullivan and Wood to Speak Here Before Election

Lorain county hosts two big Republican rallies in a last minute statewide effort. Governor Herrick travels by Lake Shore Electric through Rocky River Beach Park Lorain Vermilion and Elyria with stops if weather allows and meetings at the Empire theatre public park Elyria theatre. Morgan Wood United States Attorney J. J. Sullivan will speak at Elyria theatre Monday evening. A man named O Jones was fined five dollars for intoxication by Mayor Folger on Tuesday morning.
