The Baltimore trip by city councilors last week incurred 296.40 in expenses charged to the city. Some members who stayed home urged itemizing the bill, while those who attended resisted.

Sidewalk fronting Persone Lumber E F Sanford and B and 9 land to be certificated to county for tax collection.
Six year old Courtland LeClair vanished in the woods near Ridgeville after leaving for nuts instead of school. A neighborhood search failed to locate him until four o’clock in the afternoon when he was found safe. The incident prompted a lengthy rescue effort as parents and neighbors scoured the area.
Charles Harris a black man with both legs missing who shines wheels and begs in Lorain was arrested Monday evening for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. During the night he twice attempted suicide by hanging and was cut down each time to save his life. Also listed are John Moes 38 a Lorain stone mason, Mrs Mamie Barnes 25 Lorain, Richard Carr 59 laborer Martha Shackelford 88 Cleveland and Wm Johnson 28 painter Lorain with Dora Timnens 24 domestic Cleveland.
The Lorain steel plant property tax duplicate totals 30 754 860. Deputy Auditor Haserodt reports 1 500 000 plus will be paid by the steel company with 81 502 59 directed to corporation funds. Special assessment funds total 63 172 44 and schools 851 793 90. County levy 31 130 64 state tax 7 766 09.
Monday at about 2 PM a northbound C and S W train near Lorain frightened a horse driven by Misa Osgood of North Amherst. She was thrown from a wagon loaded with furniture and her left leg broke below the knee after the wheel passed over it. Conductor W Bassett offered hospital care. she declined and was returned home by a brother.
The fourteenth annual session of the grand chapter order of the Eastern Star of Ohio convened in Lima on Wednesday. About three thousand members attended from across the state with special cars arriving from Toledo Dayton Fort Wayne Cleveland Columbus and other places.
Elgria council at a Tuesday meeting appropriated 4000 to build a street from Woat River Street to the Columbia Steel works. Total cost estimated between 13000 and 14000 with the roadway passing under B and C tracks to reduce railway yard danger. Columbia Steel will cover the remaining cost after requesting city contribution.
Nickel Plate engineers survey a line from Sheffield yards to the Steel Plant as part of planned construction. The steel company may have secured portions of the right of way and officials are assisting. Sheffield yards can store multiple trains for steel shipments.
