Man Saved From Rails After Drunken Spree Near Kipton
An unknown intoxicated man stumbled along the West Bridge Street railroad track near Kipton Monday morning. He dropped a heavy bag, fell onto the rails, and was saved by J C Sigsworth who moved him aside just as a locomotive passed. The man, unable to speak his name, said only that he wanted to reach the depot. The incident left him unharmed aside from intoxication.

New Railroad Purchase By Mandelbaum Pomeroy Syndicate
The Mandelbaum Pomeroy syndicate bought another electric railway Monday. The line between Galion and Bucyrus, once owned by Ohio Central Traction, is nearly complete to Crestline. Tragedy at Elyria crossing claims mother of dancing teacher
Mrs Flanigan, famed mother of Elyria dancer Mrs Standish, was killed instantly when an eastbound Lake Shore engine backed into them at a railroad crossing near Corts east of Cleveland. The incident followed a private lesson with O B Clay at his Corts residence. Mrs Standish and her mother attempted to cross before the electric Shore line car arrival. the mother was hurled against the cattle-guard fence and died at the scene. The Standish daughter is a music teacher to President Roosevelt’s children. Change in Time for C. E. and W. electric schedule
The C. E. and W. electric railway adopts a fall and winter timetable effective October 1. Minor changes include ending the daily half hour Elyria to Cleveland service. A new car will depart Cleveland at 10 p.m. through to Elyria, the first 10 o’clock car from Cleveland. The theatre car still leaves Cleveland at 11 p.m. and runs to Wellington on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Regular hourly cars remain unchanged. Extra half hour Elyria–Cleveland service runs 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends, with two additional Cleveland to Elyria runs at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Narrow escape on Cleveland Elyria and Western Railway
A late six o clock east bound car on the Cleveland Elyria and Western Railway narrowly avoided a serious accident near Oberlin when cattle wandered onto the culvert below a steep grade. The motorman shut off power and halted the car within feet of the animals, which were largely uninjured after being freed with effort. Separately, Streicher and Waring of Oberlin won a contract to build a new infirmary bark at about 3850 dollars, with work to start immediately and continue until barns are finished.
