School board hires truant officer and buys encyclopedia
At a Monday meeting the school board employed Henry Krohn as truant officer for four months at 30 dollars monthly. The board authorized purchasing the New International Encyclopedia in installments. Comings will buy supplementary readers to replace worn ones. A vacant Jefferson street room will house the Weetside kindergarten until needed for regular use. Fred H Ellis, also known as Fred H Lewis, was adjudged insane and ordered to Toledo State hospital. A guardian is sought for Mary A Cary, alleged incompetent of Wiyrla. The case will be heard October 10, 1903.

Keystone placer mine to renew washing work this week
A Telluride dispatch in the Mining Record reports that washing gravel at the Keystone mine will resume this week and continue until water runs out. The Keystone stockholders re-elected the board. C M Coleman retires as secretary treasurer and GM but remains a major holder. Officers Gaiford, Thomas, and Hill are named with plans for new capital and upgraded equipment to start next spring.
