Real estate ads tout limited downtown and fringe properties with price points from 1 500 to 2 700. Listings highlight 3 to 4 room houses with baths gas and closets, and several large lots on Howe and Howe Avenue near bars Court. Act quickly as only a few select lots remain.
The Cleveland and Norwalk branches resume half hour service Saturday May 28 at two am. Regular hourly service remains on Grafton Amherst Lorain and Oberlin Wellington lines. Elyria departures to Cleveland East of the city run every half hour after 6:30. Oberlin Norwalk cars run every half hour starting 5:30 with a 6:30 start, last car to Oberlin at 10:30 pm. No Oberlin Norwalk service after 10:30 or 10:80. Last Elyria to Oberlin car at 10:30 pm on Grafton division. Amherst Lorain branch unchanged with 40 minute intervals after 4:20 am. Change approved Wednesday after management split. Volume last month supported resumption. J A Nestor issued orders Thursday to implement the new schedule.
An aging English veteran of the Crimean War is found wandering with memory and sight failing. He recalls Inkerman and a head wound, while police note a pension history in Canada and a present frail condition. Taken to infirmary, his remaining memory centers on past battles as others tend to his frailty and confusion. Event entries list Faxon Sprague Romp in sprints and hurdles, Romp Ely in middle and long distances, Wacker and Allen in field events, and Schultz Terre Rice Grills in various jumps throws and pole vault.

The Public Service Board accepted Riggs and Sherman of Solero to plan an adequate sewer system for Elyria at 625 dollars. If a sewage disposal plant is needed, 425 dollars more will be required. They were the lowest bid, with rivals up to 3,000 dollars. The clerk will advertise for Washington avenue bridge bids and the solicitor will draft a contract with Federal Manufacturing for a road to the Columbia steel works, with Federal paying half the cost.
A dazed man staggered into the mayor's office claiming six weeks of drinking. He begged to be jailed for three days to sober up, but the mayor advised him to go home and sleep. The man insisted he needed shelter or jail to end his habit.

Oberlin won the State intercollegiate track and field championship at Glenville, defending the title for the second straight year. Two state records fell, the intercollegiate mark was tied in several events, and last year’s records were eclipsed. A strong westerly breeze affected sprinting, yet Oberlin led Case by twenty one points in a close meet that featured a surprising Kenyon showing. Ohio Wesleyan did not compete.
The town had circulated rumors about the secret marriage of Maude Fowl and Allie Dimter. It is now affirmed that on the 26th day of April they were quietly wed, and though the couple kept it discreet, word has spread. Congratulations are extended to the couple.
Effis McAlister divorced James MeAllister after a Friday court action. McAlister received a penitentiary sentence for bigamy earlier in the week, as ordered by Judge Webber.
John Urig of Avon found a horse and robber tired buggy in his barn last week. A note on the buggy asked that the horse be cared for until Monday. Urig took the rig to Elyria after no claimant appeared, hoping to locate the owner. He plans to advertise if no one comes forward. Authorities suspect the horse and buggy were stolen and left to dispose of them.
Lake Shore plans a coaling station and water service at the east yard end to allow engines to move with trains without detaching.
