Havoc Wrought by the Storm in Elyria and Nearby
A severe storm struck Elyria on Monday bringing two hours of heavy rain and torrents that flooded streets and gutters. Downed trees, broken windows from hail, and a severe lightning strike damaged the Krause bloc on Hast Broad street with a roof hole and water damage. Farther east the wind caused fire at a North Ridgeville barn, killed a young colt, cut telephone lines, and disrupted rail traffic on the Wooster branch leaving stranded cars for hours.

Case Settled In Out Of Court Settlement
Marion Forney sued C. and S. W. and settled out of court on Tuesday morning. Forney received 83800. The trial lasted a day and a half before ending abruptly. Forney rode into a telephone wire on a bicycle at Oberlin and was seriously injured as the wire crossed the trolley line near the accident site. 16 was heavily charged.

James McAllister of Lorain received 19 months in the penitentiary from Judge Webber on Tuesday for bigamy. William Rheinsburg and Charles Henkle were each sentenced to 218 months for burglarizing the freight depot at North Amherst. James Mahoney was fined 5 and sentenced to 20 days in jail for receiving stolen property.
