Freda A Matthews sues Melvin Matthews for divorce after five months of marriage alleging he accused her of seeing other men and deserted her on April 90. She claims joint ownership of a Lorain house and seeks her maiden name Freda E Shoedrack restored. Frank Coleman represents her. John Day named administrator of Ellen Duffy estate with a $100 bond.
Ex Mayor B F Long of Shelby nominated for congress in the fourteenth district by acclamation at the Mansfield Democratic convention. W G Sharp named as national delegate with Lewis Brooker the other Mansfield delegate. both are Parker men. Delegates opposed Hearst element after a hard fight. Judge Robert Campbell endorsed as delegate at large. Memorial Day post orders detail grave decoration duties across several local cemeteries with Dr Hiatt to speak at the opera house and a parade to the city cemetery.

North Eaton S Walter of Mansfield visited sister Mrs E B Long boy Effie Haven and Arthur Carpenter were married May 11 at the Haven home with Roy Chapman officiating. A host of friends wish them long and prosperous life. Edith Longbon closed a successful year of show in the Long bon district last week as Mrs F Longbon hosted visitors from Pennsylvania. Grandpa Rose, recently ill, has recovered and been able to attend.

Judge Kohler fell ill while presiding over a commission in the city on Wednesday morning. A boy injured an elevator worker in Elyria and was treated by Dr Resfy. Doctor Smith of Toledo, touring Elyria, will stay through Wednesday evening to conduct animal disease demonstrations in Bellevue and Taundon Bros market rear, with hog cholera focus.
Prof Beardsley presents an illustrated talk on preserving health of the eye nose and throat at First Congregational Church. A cycle of 100 pictures titled Life Among the Mor mons will be shown with descriptions and dramatic scenes including Brigham Young and the 19 wives. A silver offering is invited at the door.
Due to absence of Councilmen Quook and Summers the Tuesday session was brief. The board of public services discussed sewer planning bids and city funds needed, with an estimate not to exceed 1000 dollars provided by the finance committee. A 40000 dollar Washington avenue bridge bond ordinance moved to second reading. The solicitor was directed to pursue Turner street acceptance, and the council donated 150 dollars to the K O T M band before adjournment.
A probate court filing seeks to remove executor W. B. Durand of the Justin Breckinridge estate. Jacob P. Breckenridge, sole heir, alleges Durand conspired with three others to defraud the estate, failed to account for a $10,000 note under a mortgage, and omitted household goods vehicles and farming implements.
Dr Beardaley will discuss appendicitis including causes and actions if it occurs, as a health talk preceding a illustrated eye display. The session starts tonight at 7 45, doors open at 7, with a silver offering and season ticket admission.

F. D. Ward is reappointed as Lorain superintendent for another year despite a heated school board session. The vote split, with one dissenter changing to support Ward, who will serve until August 31, 1905. The decision followed disputes over growth versus leadership and timing for a successor, leaving Ward in an awkward position.
H B Hoyt of Lorain narrowly escaped death when a horse and wagon slid over a high bank at Thirteenth avenue. The wagon overturned into the river fifty feet below, the horse was killed, and the wagon demolished. Hoyt jumped from the front end to safety.
