Four unknown Polish laborers were killed after being struck on Lake Shore tracks east of the city. Bodies found along a stretch of about a mile and a half. no identifications or clues found beyond a scrap of paper and a total wage of 60.25 in their pockets. Smith, her son, drawn up the will and named executor, with 20 acres and farm stock to him. Daughters receive twenty two dollars each. sons Charles and Frank two hundred fifty dollars apiece. Witnesses described the scene with the dying woman in her room and the hand guiding act by the justice of the peace.

Local dispute ends in arrest and fine for Lewis Smith
FINED SOD Lewis Smith was defendant in an action brought by Amnon Slabanca of North Amherst on Woodnesday before the mayor Mrs Slabanns keeps a boarding house in North Amherst and some time ago she sold liquor to her boarders without a license and she was convicted for the offense and sentenced to jail for ten days in the mayor's court in Amberat. The two factions quarrelled and Lewis used vile language toward Mrs Slabanna, leading to his arrest. He appeared before the mayor with an interpreter as the two spoke no English. The testimony proved offensive language and the mayor instructed that they call a spade a spade. Lewis was fined eighty and costs and committed until paid.
