The Lorain party led the Republican County convention with Barrows and Lewis factions contending for key posts. Delegates voted to nominate for state delegation while H. A. Durkee won renomination for county commissioner and H. Forbes for county infirmary director.
The Lorain County Republican convention debates control of the party, condemns attempts to seize the executive committee, and endorses a united push for a single senatorial candidate to be chosen at Medina on June 5. Orville Root's resolution calls for strong legislative action to curb trusts and secure equal opportunity.
The Republican county convention saw a decisive defeat for the faction known as the yellow dogs who sought control of the county executive committee. A minority report led by Judge Himman placed Himman at the head, overturning the expected majority influence and routing the yellow dog group in a spirited intra party clash.

Buried at Ridgeville William Maringer funeral conducted at St Marys Catholic church Ridgeville Thursday morning. Cause pneumonia death occurred Sunday morning at Rocky River where he worked in a lander yard for several years. He was twenty six, son of Peter and Ostherine Maringer. Born and raised on East Avenue seven brothers survive him. He planned to move to Elyria with brother Peter Maringer soon. He was well liked by family and friends and faced death with resignation.

Jacob Bauer 72, longtime Ridgeville resident, drowned Monday night while returning from Shawville with three companions. He stepped between Lake Shore tracks near a bridge and fell into eight feet of water as the swollen creek carried him about half a mile before recovery.
Paul Blanchard filed his bond Wednesday as special policeman to succeed Matthias Diederich who resigned. Diederich had long directed the squad fining offenders on the streets.
