A mayor proposes strict speed limits for autos in the city and parks, outlining 8 mph in populated districts and 15 mph in sparsely populated parks. Violators face arrest, fines, and liability for damages, with required brakes bells lights and power shutoff for horses and autos. Bicycle riders face sidewalk riding penalties and night safety gear requirements.
Thwae reported Wednesday that Federal Manufacturing was sold to Standard Rotler Bearing of Philadelphia while Garford and Sod said the report was untrue. The roller bearing unit was sold, but the rest of the factory remains largely as before, with little overall change to operations.
Al W Martin presents Uncle Tom's Cabin at the theatre Friday March 31. The scenic and dramatic production uses extensive scenery and effects to deliver a faithful performance. The company includes over fifty cast and a chorus of more than twenty performers with horses and other machinery.
W L Coleman, a youth from Canton, was arrested for riding a bicycle on the sidewalk on East Broad Street. He was fined five dollars plus costs, but the mayor remitted both fine and costs. An entire stock of shoes and rubber goods was mentioned at cost. Cleveland.
The Cleveland Mistries Epworth Leagues convention opened its second day at 6:40 AM with worship, followed by morning sessions, papers, and department discussions. Rev Dr J Oy Bloyd of Cincinnati appealed missions in the afternoon, then officers were elected for the coming year. Elyria will host next year’s meeting. Bishop W Hamilton of San Francisco delivered the evening address on eccentric and ecumenical Methodism, tracing Wesley and the global spread of Methodism.
Bishop Hamilton praised Methodism for teaching salvation through song and highlighted its pulpit power. He cited twenty million communicants in the United States and thirty five million worldwide, urging believers to follow God’s will. He noted acceptable amusements in line with disciplined practice and warned against misleads.
A series of evangelistic and devotional services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal church of Flyria starting April 1 and ending with Easter Sunday. Pastor Dr W C Dawson will be assisted by eight pastors from neighboring cities, expected to stir heightened public interest.
Mesara, Metzger and Robinson, with Mr. Metcalf of Elyria, reviewed goods recently acquired by the Metzger and Robinson Company. The company tag bought half an alley between the building and Royator Property on Broadway. The five feet front cost 400 per front foot totaling 2000. Lorain News.

President Pomeroy of the G&S Traction Co declares a million dollar push to reach South Lorain. The C. & Ss. W. plans a sixty day start via a route from the Elyria Lorain line to Pearl Street, facing opposition from Sheffield Lumber and Lake Shore Electric. Oberlin & Lorain Railway Co forms in response to contention with Lake Shore Electric.
Diea Mrs Mary Ryan, aged 80, tied at her son John Ryan’s East Avenue home Wednesday afternoon. Funeral will be held at St Marys church Friday morning at 8:30. Also, going out of business sale for Shoes at Coat O. R Cleveland.

The wets claimed victory at the Brannock law vote in the south end, defeating the drys by 141 votes. Results showed 517 for wets and 376 for drys amid active campaigning by both sides.
A North Amberat village council meeting revealed Mayor Baker’s resignation effective April 1. Phil Strahl is expected to become mayor after accepting, with Scibley Krueger and Fisker noting the transition.
