The B and O wins by dismissing the petition of G A Persons over misnaming the railroad company. The judge ruled no service could be made until the legal name is stated, and ordered amendment. This avoids contempt by officials for failing to place lumber cars on Mr Persons sidetrack.
Lorain county high schools show rising attendance as country pupils prepare for Borwell exams the third Saturday in April and second Saturday in May. Townships without a high school may send subdistrict pupils who have completed eighth grade. cities with schools are excluded.
The Thursday Afternoon Club enjoyed an afternoon with Mrs C I Brown and others, prize awards given, followed by a dainty lunch. Mrs P E Maddock to entertain next week. Posts and incidental expenses cannot be charged to the county, a five cent fee will be charged per applicant.

The Goshen Coal Company sues Lorain and Elyria Ice Company in common pleas court for 641.12 for goods sold and delivered. Rhees and Beidler Coal Company files a similar suit against the same defendant for 241.68.

Columbus March 3 A letter from Ohio State Warden J Porterfield to all deputy wardens forbids trapping persons into offenses and warns that wardens who solicit authority to prosecute people hunting without a written permit will be discharged.

A man using the alias Joan Jobson was arrested on a petit larceny charge after taking two sardine tins from a grocery, then eating from a cemetery gar dine pail. He pleaded guilty, claimed two men urged sale, and was sentenced to ten days in jail after a prior six weeks in town.

He claims overcharges on four shipments of 50 000 pounds and three of 40 000 pounds, totaling 296 dollars, paid before delivery, seeks judgment.
The state pardon board filed its annual report with the governor. Of 14 cases reviewed, 2 were pardoned, 7 received commutation, and 9 were rejected. William Hamill of Dayton, a first degree murderer, had his death sentence changed to life imprisonment, the third clemency escape in 19 years.
