Amid rising tensions in Mayfield, Hinkey allegedly kept Mayfield prisoner prompting a court appearance by Mrs Mayfield and a constable. Mayfield testified no warrants were issued for Hinkey’s arrest as threats and disturbances echoed through the neighborhood.
Deputy Inspector Stonington of Abion inspected the local Masonic lodge and the Anterst lodge on Monday night. The lodges were reported in excellent circumstances. A banquet was a feature of the evening.
An invitation was extended to the uniform rank K T M of the US to assist in the presidential inaugural ceremonies. No 2 of Elyria will leave for Washington DC Thursday afternoon and be gone about five days.

Arrangements with Professor Lazenby of Ohio State University will bring practical horticulture lectures to the high school on Thursday and Friday March 9 and 19. Topics include forest trees, fruit, boys garden, and insect life with free admission for all students and visitors.
Two workers at the Elyria steel plant suffered injuries Tuesday night. Sylvester Moran had his right hand caught in a car wheel and his first finger crushed. Anton Noster sustained a serious finger injury on his left hand.
The Cleveland syndicate that recently bought the fas will rapidly improve the yellow line. More cars will run Lorain to Elyria with a quicker schedule to serve steel plant traffic in morning and evening. It plans to use large orange cars similar to Lake Shots Electric in the near future.

Mayor Yolger rules on Harry Seekins case in which drinking two giosaea of liquor on an empty stomach led to intoxication. Seekins, a well known local, was punished after a pavement fall and burns. The mayor granted half a day of employment after provisioning his family and noted mitigating circumstances.
Oberlin Ohio March 1 Edwin Fauver resigns as instructor in physical training at Oberlin College and plans to join Columbia University medical college. He and his brother Edgar will oversee the gymnasium at Horace Mann School of Columbia. No successor has been named.
Evangelist James Small urges young men to unite with the church to live Christ’s teachings daily. He says salvation is strengthened by church environment and emphasizes making Christ a daily part of life over theory alone. A mention includes Walk-Over at $475 and R. Cleveland at 405 Broad Street.
