Walton manager of the Elyria and Coonville Ice Co announces to the public that the company will not quinke any ice contracts this season due to a staal crop harvester up the takes. Ice will be furnished at reasonable prices to all who wish to buy pure ice for drinking water and cooling. Also noted: Low Rates Every Sunday on Lake Shore Railway with reduced tickets between select points.

Oberlin Musical union of 200 valeea’ll repeat Wagner’s Lohengrin at the commencement concert on Wednesday evening June 24 due to high demand for tickets from the recent festival. Commencement exercises at Oberlin Kindergarten Training School were Sunday with thirteen graduates receiving diplomas. President Henry Churchill King of Oberlin College spoke on Study Teaching Living and Influence. Diplomas were presented by Dr OC Browning president of the Oberlin Kindergarten association.
The Supreme court today affirmed the constitutionality of the law of 190, permitting township schools to be centralized and pupils transported to the central school in conveyances. Ohio leads the effort with educators in other states watching closely.
The centenarian Grandma Allen attended Sunday night services and was seated in an honored place on the platform. Rev H Woonawaker gave a sketch of her long life and of Elyria since 1832, noting railroad and telegraph innovations. The congregation later shook her hand as she prepares to join the GE society and attend the state convention next week.
Claude Simmons was arrested again on the charge of abusing a horse belonging to Sum moerg and Son. He is scheduled for a hearing before Mayor Folger on Tuesday morning.
A joint meeting of the school board and the library trustee was held Saturday evening to decide if the Elyria library should be free to the public. If approved, the change would take effect on August first. The issue has been under consideration for some time and action is expected this evening.
The martyr's memorial arch at Oberlin will become the shrine for thousands of Christian Endeavorers at their state convention in Elyria this month. Erected in memory of missionaries slain in China during the Boxer uprising, the arch is a beautiful structure costing $30,000.
Mayor Folger issues a city proclamation banning firing cannons pistols and high explosives on streets for the Fourth of July and forbids cannon noise and firecrackers while allowing fireworks not to be interfered with by police.
WL Dresser of Oberlin is building the first house on Fifteenth avenue at South Lorain. The $3,000 residence will be leased as soon as completed. The first sawyer inspection on that street was made Thursday.
Both the Cleveland and South Weot ere and the Lorain and Elyria Electric railway companies will soon have extra power. A new generator at the power house south of town will be ready in a few days, enabling half hour service and on time car operation in all weather. A second generator and new cars are planned for Lorain and Elyria by week’s end. Passengers will avoid sudden power outages during peak times.

James Flood arrested on humane charge after his wife Elizabeth Flood reports neglect of their minor children. Hearing set for Monday at two in the afternoon.

The Knights of the Maccabees and Indies held memorial exercises on Sunday with visitors from Oberlin and Wellington. Commander H G Wheeler led rituals, graves were decorated by four squads, and addresses were given at the cemetery by Past Commander G Hobill and T J Eckler before about two hundred members.
Four saloonists named as Henry Esch William Wagner O Colgan and George Conrad were arrested by Officer Whitney for illegal liquor sales. Esch Wagner and Conrad and Wagner's saloons were on Broad street with Colgan on Lodi street. All four pleaded. Colgan and Esch were fined five dollars and costs. Wagner and Conrad pled not guilty and await hearings.
A good roads meeting will be held at Ridgeville town hall on Thursday evening June 18 at 7 o'clock. The call is issued by FW Brigas L McNelly and 30 A Stearns who will be in charge. Ridgeville farmers have pride in their roads and seek improvements. An invitation is extended to all farmers to attend.
A group of government life saving department officials visited Lorain on Monday. They met by the Chamber of Commerce, toured potential sites for a new life saving station, rode upriver to the steam plant docks, observed Lorain Steel Company, and had lunch in the private dining room of the steel company's general office building.
The remains of Mrs. Sarah Hoslander were brought here for burial from Chicago on Monday. The funeral is set for Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock in Ridgeville. She formerly lived in Elyria and Ridgeville and had been living with her daughter Mrs. Ben Hoskins in Chicago.
