An unknown man about 60, wearing a blue working jacket with gray hair and a thin beard, was struck on the Green Line toward Lorain at stop 7 shortly after 2:30 this afternoon. His legs were mangled beneath the wheels. he was placed in the car baggage room and died before Elyria.

Humane Society investigates two animal cruelty cases
The Humane Society through attorney A F Lawrence secured the arrest of Scott E Owen and A R Good on cruelty charges. They were arraigned before Mayor Folger the same night for shooting a mule and a horse with shotguns belonging to John Mayatfaky of S Lorain. Counterfeit $100 Bill Encountered in Lorain Area
A South Lorain man was arrested after attempting to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at Lerach's store. Police say the note bore “Oberlin Business College Bank” and was found in a pay envelope at the steel plant. Death of Elyria Native Frank M. Haines in Texas
Telegram reports the death of Frank M. Haines in Fort Worth Texas. He lived in Elyria eight years and served as chief engineer at the steel plant and chief of Lorain Street Railway for about three years. He traveled to South America with the steel company and later became vice president of the Northern Texas Traction Company. His body will be transported to Boston for burial by his mother Mrs James Haines.

The Lorain county court shows civil suits nearly doubling in five years while criminal cases more than doubling. Civil suits now average forty monthly and would take a judge one year and a half to dispose of. Between 1801 and 1900 civil suits rose from 297 to 442 in the year ended June 1 1905, a gain of 145 cases.
